Framework for Future Delivery of Water Services
Over the next few months and into 2025, we will implement our plans to move to the new national organisation structure so that we can bring much needed support to all our teams across the country.
At our recent meetings with all 31 Water Services areas, we outlined what the Future Organisation Structure would look like. Personnel from HR and our Integration and Management teams were also on hand to speak with you on a One-to-One capacity outlining what your Terms and Conditions would be should you make the move across to Uisce Éireann, and what your role would look like in the new structure. This information is still valid to you, and we will now begin to deliver this new structure starting in the Eastern and Southwestern regions from September 2024. We will come and meet with you in person again soon to explain what will happen and how these changes may affect you.
Water services plays a vital role in the lives of millions of people in Ireland every day, integral to numerous businesses and communities across the country. Therefore, it is crucial that we continue to transform our shared organisation so that we can deliver a first-rate service for the country, allowing our communities to thrive. To achieve this, we must keep pace with the changes that are happening across the organisation, in our industry and our country, ensuring that our teams on the ground are fully resourced, and that they can operate each day in an environment that is safe so that we can shape our organisation to be ready for the Ireland of the future. Now with the national planning we have been able to achieve, we can to commit funding that will make Uisce Éireann the biggest investor in Irish national infrastructure for the next 10 years.
To prepare ourselves for these changes, we will begin to stream our teams on the ground wherever feasible to focus on Water and Wastewater, and Treatment and Network separately and stand-up teams to take responsibility for key areas of Asset Operations such as Operational Support and Control. Our dedicated Leakage teams will begin to take shape allowing us to focus completely on that discipline in each area. And we will appoint our Team Leads, a new role that will become instrumental in the overall operations of crews locally. The supporting structures enabling these changes to happen will also be introduced and communicated to you locally.

How the HR One to One meeting will work
These meetings are being held locally and virtually via Zoom in each Local Authority area. Once you submit your Request for Information, we send you an email requesting you to compile your Details of Employment with the Local Authority, i.e. your current salary, grade, overtime, allowances, and all existing agreements in place with your employer. Only information provided by you will be used for the discussion.
We will be able to provide a comparison between the Uisce Éireann pay model and the mirrored LA pay model based on the information you supply. An Uisce Éireann HR representative will then go through all your information with you and confirm the guarantees in relation to your existing terms and conditions, as well as answer any individual questions you may have in relation to transferring to Uisce Éireann.
Following on from this meeting, you can confirm your intention to transfer to Uisce Éireann and we will follow up with formal contract information. You can also decide not to join at this time and consider all your options further before deciding to transfer later. All staff in water services will have the option to join Uisce Éireann up to the end of 2026.
