Framework for Future Delivery of Water Services

Our Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme team are on the road again, meeting Local Authority colleagues across the country. This time, we will be speaking with you about the Future Organisation Structure; sharing details with you of what the proposed new structure will look like and how your roles will now match across the new future organisation structure.

Our Integration and Management Team, colleagues from across the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme and the business will be on hand at dedicated information sessions answering any questions that our Local Authority colleagues may have on any aspect of the future structure and much more. The aim of the briefings is to help our Local Authority colleagues to make an informed decision to join Uisce Éireann. Two briefing sessions have taken place to date, the first in Wicklow on 11 April and in Roscommon a week later, on 18 April. We want and need all Water Services staff to remain working for their communities and we believe that Uisce Éireann has a lot to offer those who will transfer to our shared organisation. A schedule of Local Authority staff briefings is available below.

The Pipeline

Welcome to The Pipeline, our new dedicated newsletter for Water Services Staff. In this second edition of our newsletter, you’ll find our recent interview with Caroline O’Kane who previously worked in Limerick City and County Council, and her thoughts on how Uisce Éireann can continue building on the great legacy of the Local Authorities, delivering water services, and working for the communities of Ireland. If there is something you would like to read about in the next edition of “the pipeline”, please contact your local line management or email LAStaffqueries@water.ie directly.

How the HR One to One meeting will work

These meetings are being held locally and virtually via Zoom in each Local Authority area. Once you submit your Request for Information, we send you an email requesting you to compile your Details of Employment with the Local Authority, i.e. your current salary, grade, overtime, allowances, and all existing agreements in place with your employer. Only information provided by you will be used for the discussion.

We will be able to provide a comparison between the Uisce Éireann pay model and the mirrored LA pay model based on the information you supply. An Uisce Éireann HR representative will then go through all your information with you and confirm the guarantees in relation to your existing terms and conditions, as well as answer any individual questions you may have in relation to transferring to Uisce Éireann.

Following on from this meeting, you can confirm your intention to transfer to Uisce Éireann and we will follow up with formal contract information. You can also decide not to join at this time and consider all your options further before deciding to transfer later. All staff in water services will have the option to join Uisce Éireann up to the end of 2026.
