The project will result in the capacity of the plant increasing by 10%, growing from a population equivalent of 5,000 to 5,500.
The self-contained unit is capable of treating up to 40,000 litres per hour which will supply 6,200 people, or the equivalent of 1.6million one-litre bottles of clean water, per day.
We can confirm that the Boil Water Notice that was issued in parts of North Kildare on Friday, 22 September has been lifted with immediate effect.
