Water main connection works may cause supply disruptions in Killarney

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Kerry County Council, is carrying out water mains connections on Fairhill Park Road, Killarney to strengthen the water supply network in Killarney town.

Uisce Éireann wishes to advise customers on Fairhill Park Road, St. Brendan’s Place, Daltons Ave, Marian Terrace, Bishop Moynihan’s Crescent, O’Kelly’s Villas, O’Sullivan’s Place, Sunnyhill Upper, Sunnyhill Lower, O’Sullivan’s Place, Mangerton View, Rock Road, New Road, Port Road, St. Margaret’s Road, Millwood, Coolegrean Park, High Street, Msgr O’Flaherty Rd, St. Mary’s Road, Friary Downs, Friary Court, Burr Ridge, Ardshanvooly,  Sáil Árdán, Dennehy’s Bohereen , Park Road and surrounding areas that as part of the water main improvement works being delivered on Fairhill Park Road there may be disruption to water supply from 10pm on Wednesday 2 November until 6am on Thursday 3 November.

During these essential works, homes and businesses in the above areas area may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages. Following the completion of improvement works; water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network. Work crews will endeavour to complete works ahead of time in order to expedite the return of supply to the affected areas. 

Traffic management will be in place on Fairhill Park Road however,  local and emergency traffic will always be maintained. Uisce Éireann understands this type of work can be inconvenient and will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause.

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme. Since 2018, Uisce Éireann has invested over €500 million to upgrade the underground water network across the country through the delivery of the Leakage Reduction Programme. We are investing a further €250 million every year up to the end of 2030 -fixing leaks and replacing pipes to provide a more reliable water supply.
