The Irish Water IT (IW IT) function provides IT services and support to the wider Irish Water business, and across the Local Authority user base. The Architecture Performance and Partnering group is responsible for the ongoing IW IT strategic vision and architectural landscape.The main focus of the group is across Strategy & Business architecture. Key to this is the Application, Data, Technical & Security Architecture domains.

The primary role of the IT Architecture Manager will be to provide guidance to IT teams and projects in relation to the effective use of technology systems, applications, data, infrastructure, and cloud services that best meet business requirements and ensure alignment with Irish Water’s overall business and IT strategies. The IT Architecture Manager will be expected to pro-actively ensure that, where feasible, various technology options are presented to meet new business requirements, and that the implications of each option are clearly articulated to business and IT stakeholders.

Reporting into to the Irish Water head of IT, the IT Architecture Manager will have responsibility for ensuring that overall Irish Water IT architecture frameworks (technology, infrastructure, application, data, mobile, cloud, digital, operational technology integration and general solution architecture) are implemented effectively with the overall objective of translating complex business problems into sound and cost-effective technical solutions.

The IT Architecture Manager will manage a team of IT Architects and ensure alignment across this team to architecture standards and processes.
