Galway West Water Supply Scheme

Water Supply Project

Terryland Water Treatment Plant Intake Works & Clifton Hill Rising Main

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Galway County Council has commenced works on the Galway West Water Supply Scheme (Terryland Project) to safeguard the water supply to homes and businesses across Galway.
The existing intake to the Terryland Water Treatment Plant on the Terryland river in Galway City can run lowposing the risk that residents and businesses in Galway City could have supply interrupted. A new Intake Structure on the river Corrib will be constructed which will ensure a reliable, safe and secure source of drinking water supply for the Galway City Area.

Works on the project are expected to begin in late July 2022 and estimated to be completed by July 2024. Coffey Construction Limited is delivering the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
