Works completed to restore water supply for customers in Longwood

Uisce Éireann and Meath County Council crews have completed repair works to restore water as quickly as possible to all impacted customers in Longwood and surrounding areas.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann, commented: “The repairs have been completed and most customers will see their water supply returning in the next two to three hours. We appreciate your patience and any impact this unplanned outage may have had.”

Uisce Éireann is working with Meath County Council to restore water as quickly as possible to all impacted customers following a burst to a water main at the treatment plant. The burst may be impacting the water supply to approximately 500 customers in Longwood and surrounding areas.

Dedicated water service crews have mobilised and repairs are underway and further updates will be provided as the works progress. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann, commented: “The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area and restore water for all customers. We hope to have the repairs completed by this evening and we appreciate your patience as we work to return normal water supply as quickly as possible.”  

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
