Crews working to restore water supply in Moygownagh

Crews are on site in Moygownagh this morning repairing a burst watermain.

Uisce Éireann and Mayo County Council are working to restore the water to the Lisglennon and Moygownagh district metering areas as quickly as possible.

Every effort is being made to maintain supply to as many customers as possible but the burst is impacting water supply to homes and businesses in Moygownagh, Ballintober, Tonree, Roosky, Garranard, Cloonamore, Killeenashask, Garrynagran, Lessanny and Abbeytown areas.

Repairs are expected to be complete by 4pm. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Speaking about the repair works Ger Greally, Uisce Éireann said: “The repairs in the Moygownagh area are being conducted as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers."

“We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience as we work to repair the burst and return the water supply.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
