Why is fluoride added to the public water supply in Ireland?
The requirements for fluoridating public water supplies are set out in the Health (Fluoridation of Water Supplies) Act 1960 and the Fluoridation of Water Supplies Regulations 2007 [S.I. No 42 of 2007]. As the water service authority, Irish Water is working with the HSE to implement State policy on fluoridation.
