Water supply returning in Dundrum following repairs to burst water main
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Normal water supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Dundrum and surrounding areas following the successful repair of a burst water main which had caused an interruption to local homes and businesses.
While the main is now repaired it may take some time for full supply to return to homes and businesses as the network refills. Normal supply is expected to return by 10am tomorrow.
Alternative water supplies will be made available for impacted customers at Lackenacoombe, Rossmore Church, Clounoulty GAA and Regaile Cross from 2.30pm today.
Customers are reminded to bring their own containers when drawing water from the tanker, and to boil the water before use as a precautionary measure.
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said: “We understand the disruption an unplanned outage like this can cause and would like to thank customers for their patience while crews worked to repair the burst.”
