Water supply disruption for customers supplied by Ballany Reservoir
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to customers in Westmeath following an operational issue at Ballany Reservoir
Customers in Castlepollard, Coole, St. Tola’s National School, Delvin, Hiskinstown and surrounding areas in Co. Westmeath may experience an interruption to their water supply as a result
Repair works are scheduled to continue until 4pm today. Once works are complete and supply begins to return, customers are reminded that it can take some additional time for the network to refill and for normal water pressure to be restored, particularly for customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
David Gibbons, Water Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann, said: "Our crews are working to restore supply to impacted customers. We are asking customers to be mindful of their water use during this period and we thank the community for their patience and cooperation while we work to restore normal supplies."
We understand that a water outage can be more than an inconvenience for customers who rely on a continuous water supply for medical reasons. Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
