Supply returning to customers in Roscommon following issues at the Grange Water Treatment Plant
13 December 2025
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann wishes to advise that due to issues at the Grange Water Treatment Plant customers on the North East Regional Water Scheme in Co. Roscommon will experience low pressure and loss of supply on elevated areas until normal supply is restored overnight.
The following areas are affected: Strokestown, Ballyleague, Ballybeg, Elphin, Tarmonbarry, Scramogue and Slatta.
The treatment plant is now back in full production but will take a number of hours to replenish the reservoir levels. Normal supply is expected to be fully restored overnight, however, it may take longer for supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Uisce Éireann’s Ger Greally thanked affected customers for their cooperation. “Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience as the reservoir continues to replenish to normal levels. We expect full supply to be returned to all customers overnight. During this time, we are continuing to appeal to customers on this supply to conserve water.”
Uisce Éireann’s customer care team is available to help 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For further updates, visit our service and supply section.
