Crews continuing repairs to Crossmolina burst this morning
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Repairs are now complete and a normal supply is returning for Uisce Éireann customers impacted by an outage in the Crossmolina area.
Uisce Éireann crews successfully repaired a significant burst on a water main which caused supply disruptions to some customers in Crossmolina, Rathnamagh and surrounding areas on Thursday evening and Friday.
Repairs on the burst main were complete at approximately 4pm and supply is now returning to normal levels.
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the network recharges.
Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann thanked impacted customers for their patience during what was a difficult and complex repair.
“This was a significant burst which took time for our crews to locate, isolate and repair,” said Colette. “We understand the impact that an outage has on homes and businesses and we want to thank impacted customers for their patience and understanding while repairs were ongoing.”
