Helping to keep water flowing: Essential reservoir cleaning works planned in Co Donegal

To help ensure communities across Co Donegal continue to receive clean, safe drinking water, essential reservoir cleaning works will take place this week in parts of Carndonagh, Letterkenny and Pettigo.

Regular reservoir cleaning is an important part of ensuring customers can continue to rely on a safe, clean and dependable water supply now and into the future.

To help minimise disruption for customers, essential reservoir cleaning works in Carndonagh and Letterkenny will be carried out overnight.

A planned outage will be in place for customers supplied by Woodtop Reservoir (Carndonagh) from 8pm on Tuesday, 20 October until 8am on Wednesday, 21 October. Customers supplied by Mountaintop Reservoir (Letterkenny) will be affected from 8pm on Wednesday, 21 October until 9am on Thursday, 22 October.

Reservoir cleaning works will then take place in Pettigo between 8am and 6pm on Friday, 23 October.

While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, customers in these areas may experience reduced water pressure, temporary discolouration or intermittent supply during and shortly after the works. Normal water supply is expected to return as the cleaning programme is completed.

"By carrying out much of this work overnight, we can help minimise disruption for customers while continuing to maintain the infrastructure that delivers water to communities across Donegal. We thank customers for their patience and understanding while these essential works are completed."
