Crews working to restore water supply following large burst impacting the Blackcastle area in Navan

Uisce Éireann is working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers in Blackcastle, Blackcastle Demense, Belcourt, Clusker Park and surrounding areas in Navan following a burst to a water main.  

Expert water services crews have been dispatched to find and fix the burst and every effort is being made to reduce the impact on customers and restore water supply as quickly as possible. 

Repair works are progressing and are estimated to be completed by 4pm this afternoon, however, it may take a number of hours following repairs for normal water supply to return to all customers due to the size of the network impacted, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes. 

Michael Cunniffe with Uisce Éireann, commented: “The repairs are being conducted as quickly and as efficiently as possible to minimise disruption and restore the water supply to homes and businesses. We understand the inconvenience an unplanned outage can have on our customers and appreciate your patience as we work to return normal water supply as quickly as possible.”
