Crews working to restore water supply in North Leitrim

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore normal water supply to customers in North Leitrim following a mechanical issue at Glenade Water Treatment Plant this afternoon.

The issue is causing interruptions to water supply and reduced water pressure to homes, farms and businesses across the area. Customers supplied from the Kinlough Tullaghan Water Supply in Dartry, Laghta, Tawley, Derrinloughan, Castlegal, Unshinagh and surrounding areas are impacted by this unplanned outage.

Crews have been on site since the issue was identified and are working to complete repairs and return water supply to the community as quickly as possible.

Kevin Love of Uisce Éireann thanked customers for their patience and understanding while repairs are underway.

“We know how disruptive water supply interruptions can be for families, businesses, and communities. Our crews are working hard to repair the issue and restore normal supply as quicky as possible.

“We appreciate the patience and support of local residents while these essential repairs are being carried out and we will continue to keep customers updated on our progress.”

Once repairs are complete, water supply will return gradually as the network refills. It can take between two and three hours for normal supply to return to most customers, while homes on higher ground or at the end of the network may experience a longer restoration time.
