Crews working to restore water supply to customers served by the Dunbin Water Treatment Plant
Alternative Water Supplies being mobilised to Kilcurly and Sheelagh National Schools

Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in Kilkerley and surrounding areas following operational issues at the Dunbin Water Treatment Plant. Some customers may be experiencing no water or low water pressure in Kilkerley and Dunbin townlands including Ash Little, Ash Big, Newtown, Dunbin Big, Dunbin Little Cortial, Kilcurly, Newtownbalregan, Philpstown, Balrobin, Courtbane, Hackballscross, Rassan, Sheelagh and surrounding areas.
To support customers, alternative water supplies will be available from 5pm today at Kilcurly National School and Sheelagh National School in Courtbane. Customers are reminded to bring their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per advice from the Health Service Executive.
Uisce Éireann’s David Reilly has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage, and we thank customers for their support while we work to restore normal supply. Crews are on site and will work into the night. It is expected that supply will be restored by 4am on Saturday, 13 June."
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
