Works continue to repair burst on water main in Mid-Kerry
Alternative water supplies remain available

Uisce Éireann crews worked throughout yesterday to repair a significant burst on a water main in Mid-Kerry, however, a second burst has occurred on another section of the network, requiring further repair works. Following repairs, subsequent bursts can occur as the network refills and water pressure returns through the system.
Customers in Reen, Callanafersy, and surrounding areas may experience an interruption to their water supply from 3pm this afternoon as crews carry out necessary repair works.
To support impacted customers, alternative water supplies, including bulk water tankers and bottled water, remain available at the following locations;
- Bulk water tankers available across from Milltown National School
- Bottled water available from Milltown Football field
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Uisce Éireann’s Eoin O’Connell said, “We appreciate the inconvenience of these unplanned outages. We want to reassure customers that we are continuing to repair this burst as quickly and safely as possible.”
Normal supply is expected to resume from approximately 6am tomorrow morning (25 July). However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a major burst watermain in Mid-Kerry and restore water to customers affected.
Customers in parts of Listry, Aghadoe, Barleymount, Milltown, and surrounding areas are affected.

- Bottled water available from Milltown Football field from 5pm this afternoon, 23 July 2026
