Crews working to restore supply to customers in Cashel
Alternative water supplies available to support those impacted.

Uisce Éireann is working to restore supply to customers in Cashel and surrounding areas following an interruption at Farranamanagh Water Treatment Plant. This is reducing the amount of treated water being supplied to homes and businesses.
Crews are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible; however, the reduced output from the plant means that water supply is currently under pressure in some areas. High demand coupled with the reduction in treated water available may result in outages for customers in Cashel and surrounding areas from this evening. Overnight restrictions remain in place in Cashel to further allow reservoir levels recover with supply expected to be restored tomorrow morning, Sunday.
To support impacted customers, alternative water supplies are available at John the Baptist NS, Old Road, Cashel and at LIDL, Cahir Road, Cashel. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Elsewhere, some customers on the Dundrum Regional Water Supply Scheme may be experiencing supply disruptions. Low treated water reservoir levels and sustained high demand has impacted supply in Goolds Cross, Ardmayle, Stonepark, Kilbreedy, Clonmore South/North, Cloon, Ballydine, Ballagh, and surrounding areas.
To support impacted customers, an alternative water supply will be made available at the Creamery at Goolds Cross this evening.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience of these unplanned interruptions to supply for our customers in these two areas of Tipperary. Every litre of treated drinking water supplied to homes and businesses starts as water drawn from a raw water source. It must then be treated, stored and supplied through the network. When demand remains exceptionally high over a sustained period, it places increasing pressure on each stage of that process. We are asking customers to be mindful of their usage when water returns to help maintain supply and allow reservoirs to recover in the coming days. Even small reductions in use, when taken across communities, can make a meaningful difference while we work to restore normal supply.”
