Crews working to restore operations to customers in Cashel
Alternative water supplies are now available
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Customers in Cashel may be experiencing disruptions to their water supply following an overnight interruption at Farnamanagh Water Treatment Plant. This resulted in low treated water levels in local reservoirs, which were already depleted following an earlier unplanned outage caused by an electrical fault impacting both Farnamanagh and Springmount Water Treatment Plants.
While crews are onsite working to restore operations, reservoir levels remain critically low. As a result, some areas may continue to experience low pressure and intermittent supply. It will take time for the network to fully recharge and for reservoir levels to recover.
Uisce Éireann is appealing to customers in Cashel to conserve water as supply returns, to help maintain essential supply for all customers during the recovery period.
To support customers, alternative water supplies are now in place opposite the Centenary Co-op on Cahir Road and at Cashel Rugby Club. Customers are reminded to bring their own clean, sanitised, potable containers when collecting water, and to boil the water before use as a precautionary measure.
Pierce Faherty of Uisce Éireann said: “It will take some time for the network to recharge, and we are asking customers to be mindful of their water usage as supply returns. We understand the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages and we thank customers for their continued patience.”
