Crews responding to significant burst in Kilsarkin

Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a burst in Kilsarkin which occurred earlier this morning. To support impacted customers, an alternative water supply in the form of a tanker will be available from 2pm today at Scartaglin National School. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Customers in the following areas may be experiencing a disruption to their water supply or low water pressure: Kilsarkin, Currow Hill Group Water Scheme along with the townlands of Scartaglin, Carke, Ballintourig and upper Cordal.

Eoin O’Connell, Operations Manager said: “The repair works are complex, and we understand the inconvenience caused especially in warm weather. We want to thank customers for their patience as we work to restore supply.”

Works are estimated to be completed by 11.30pm tonight. Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all affected customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
