Supply returning in Carrigaline after successful mains repair

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Water supply is returning to impacted Uisce Éireann customers in Carrigaline town this evening with repair works successfully completed.

The burst which occurred this morning was complex to repair due to its location and traffic volumes in the busy Cork town.

Michael Bell, Network Operations Manager thanked customers for their cooperation while the complex repair works were carried out from early this morning: “Our crews have completed all repair works. Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage and wishes to thank customers in the area for their patience while these repairs were underway. We would ask customers in the impacted areas to be mindful that it may take longer for normal supply to be fully restored to customers as the system recharges.”

Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all affected customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Customers in the following areas were impacted by water supply outages: The Carrigaline Court Hotel, Kilmoney Woods, Kilmoney Road Upper, Lower Clevedon, Mountain Road, Station Road, West Avenue, Maurland.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries.
