Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a burst water main which is impacting water supply to Ballyconneely, Co. Galway.
The burst occurred earlier this morning and crews are working to assess and complete the repairs. It is estimated that repairs will be complete by this afternoon.
Customers in the following areas will be impacted by water supply disruptions: Mannin Mor, Mannin Beg, Leitirshark, Shannanagower, Derrgimla and Callow.
Ciarán Conneely, Water Network Team Lead said: “We understand the disruption a large burst like this can cause and we are working to repair the water main as quickly as possible, while prioritising the safety of the public and our crew. We thank the community for their patience and understanding while this work is ongoing.”
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all affected customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
