Crews continuing complex repairs to major burst impacting customers in Ennis

Works to repair a major burst water main supplying the Ennis Water Treatment Plant are continuing. Repair crews are onsite since earlier this morning with works expected to continue into tonight.
To support impacted customers, an alternative water supply will be available from 9am tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at Ennis Mart. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Uisce Éireann's Darragh Conneely said crews are working tirelessly to restore normal service and minimise disruption, assuring customers that every effort is being made to return a full and reliable water supply as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage, and we thank customers for their support while repair works continue. Once repairs are complete, we would ask customers in the impacted areas to be mindful that it may take longer for normal supply to be fully restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.”
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
