Ballyshannon benefitting from investment

As Christmas approaches, Uisce Éireann has delivered an early present to the people of Ballyshannon – a stronger, more reliable water supply, thanks to essential improvement works completed in the town.

As part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme, more than 400 metres of ageing water mains have been replaced along West Port in Ballyshannon. These works have delivered a significant reduction in leakage and improved water quality for local homes and businesses.

The project also included the installation of new water service connections from the public water main to customer boundaries, further strengthening supply in the area.

Patricia Lowry, Uisce Éireann Programme Manager, welcomed the completion of the works: “Replacing this stretch of water mains has brought lasting benefits for our customers in the area, including improved water quality and greater confidence in their supply. Our crews worked hard to minimise disruption, and we are grateful to the local community for their patience and support as we delivered these essential works.”

The works were carried out by Farrans Construction on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
