The works involved the replacement of over 2.1km of aged cast iron water mains with new modern pipes. The programme which replaced the water mains in Tullow Town Centre commenced in February 2025.
These works were being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme.
The section of works took place along Church Street, Bridge Street, Market Square, Mill Street, Bishop Street, Old Chapel Lane, John Street, The Course/ Crosskeys and Mullawn.
The works also involved laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.
