Templetuohy public water supply upgrade

Uisce Éireann commence upgrade to Templetuohy public water supply.

Uisce Éireann’s has commenced a €1 million upgrade to the Templetuohy public water supply. Works have commenced that will ensure continued delivery of a safe, secure, and reliable supply of drinking water to over 800 customers in the local community.

What are the benefits of this project?

The Templetuohy Public Water Supply is included on the Environmental Protection Agency's Remedial Action List (RAL), which identifies water supplies that need improvement. The upgrade works at the water treatment plant now underway will provide a more robust and advanced water treatment process and ensure ongoing compliance with drinking water standards into the future.  

What is involved as part of this project?

The focus of the work includes an upgrade to the disinfection system on site, to ensure a more modern and efficient process and advanced monitoring system.

What are the next steps?

Ward and Burke are carrying out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann. Completion of this upgrade project is planned for early 2026.
