Sixmilebridge Water Mains Replacement

Uisce Éireann has completed leakage reduction works in Sixmilebridge to provide a more reliable water supply and reduce high levels of leakage.

The works involved the replacement of over 1km of old and damaged water mains prone to bursts with new modern pipes. The programme to replace the water mains in Sixmilebridge commenced in mid-May and concluded in late-June. These works were carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme.

The section of works took place along the R471 Cloonlara Road, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare.

The works also involved laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.

The works were carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Ward and Burke.
