Rathvilly Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

Uisce Éireann has completed a €15.5 million upgrade of the Rathvilly Water Treatment Plant. This project will benefit over 15,000 customers with the delivery of a clean, safe drinking water supply.

The Carlow North Regional Water Supply was included on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Remedial Action List (RAL), which identifies water supplies that are in need of improvement.

The completed upgrades have modernised and improved the water treatment process at the plant, ensuring raw water is treated to the water quality standards as required by the European Union Council Directive and Regulations. The supply has now been removed from the RAL.

Glanua Ltd carried out these works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
