Loughananna Water Mains Replacement
Uisce Éireann carried out leakage reduction works in Loughananna, Co Limerick to provide a more reliable water supply and reduce high levels of leakage.
The works involved the replacement of almost 1.7 kilometres of old and damaged water mains with new modern pipes. The programme replaced the water mains from Galtee Water Treatment Plant to Main Road, Loughananna, Co Limerick which commenced in late August 2025. These works were carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme.
The section of works took place along the L-86721, Loughananna, Co Limerick. The works also involved laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.
The works were carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Ward and Burke and were completed in October 2025.
