Kealkill Water Mains Replacement
Uisce Éireann has completed leakage reduction works in Kealkill, Bantry, Co. Cork, providing a more reliable water supply and reduce high levels of leakage.
The works involved the replacement of nearly 2.5km of problematic water mains with new modern pipes. These works were carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme.me.
The section of works took place along the R584 from Pearson’s Bridge to Burke’s Gala.
The works also involved laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.
The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Ward & Burke Construction Ltd. and were completed in April 2025.
