Easkey Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade
Uisce Éireann has commenced upgrade works to the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Easkey, County Sligo.
Uisce Éireann has commenced works to upgrade the Easkey Wastewater Treatment Plant. This €1.4 million investment will benefit homes and businesses in Easkey. These works will enable the plant to capture stormwater flows. When completed, this project will improve the performance and reliability of Easkey Wastewater Treatment Plant and support the social and economic development of Easkey.
EPS Group are carrying out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
What is involved as part of this project?
The scope of works comprises the following:
- Provision of a new stormwater overflow system
- Construction of a stormwater storage tank
- Installation of an overflow pipeline and pumps to safely release excess water from the storage tank
- Integration of all interconnecting pipelines, supporting structures, and modern control systems for efficient operation
- Decommissioning of existing stormwater overflow upstream of sludge storage tank

What are the next steps?
Works commenced on site in October 2025. All works are within the site boundary. Local residents may experience an increase in noise levels, and local public roads may experience an increase in construction related traffic throughout the construction phase. This project is expected to continue until late 2026.
