Uisce Éireann is progressing works on an upgrade to Creagh Water Treatment Plant in Co. Wexford. 

Uisce Éireann is progressing works on an upgrade of the Creagh Water Treatment Plant. This project will benefit over 7,000 customers, ensuring the delivery of a clean, safe drinking water source.

These upgrades will ensure continued compliance with drinking water regulations and reduce the risk of water quality issues in the future. The completed upgrades will modernise and improve the water treatment process at the plant, ensuring raw water is treated to the water quality standards as required by the European Union Council Directive and Regulations.

EPS Ltd. is delivering the project on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

What are the benefits of this project?

The upgrade works carried out as part of this project will:

  • Ensure the continued delivery of safe, clean drinking water to residents and businesses in the surrounding area.
  • Improve water quality and water treatment standards.
  • Ensure compliance with current drinking water quality regulations.

What is involved as part of this project?

Upgrades as part of this project include:

  • Install UV as primary disinfection system in new kiosk/container.
  • Upgrade chlorination system, including alarms & inhibits.
  • Upgrade the Central Control and Automation System.
  • Upgrades to the existing Diffused Air Flotation & Filtration DAFF system.
  • Installation of a second (DAFF) system.
  • Install Run-to-Waste system on DAFF outlet to divert to adjacent tanks.

Next Steps:

This project is due to complete in spring 2026.
