Water mains improvement works on Mount Verdon Terrace and Wellington Road, Cork may cause disruption to supply

Water main improvement works to provide more secure, reliable water supply.

Uisce Éireann is carrying out water main improvement works on Mount Verdon Terrace, Wellington Road this week which will provide a more secure, reliable water supply to the area. We wish to advise customers that as part of these improvement works, there may be disruption to water supply from 09.30 to 16.30 on Thursday 6 February 2020.

Areas Affected:

  • Wellington Road, Summer Hill (dwellings on north side of hill), York Hill
  • Sidney Mews, Sidney Park, Belgrave Avenue, Belgrave Place
  • St. Patricks Place, York Terrace, Waterloo Place, Grosvenor Place
  • Wellesley Terrace and Charlemont Terrace

During these essential planned works, homes and businesses in the above areas area may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages. Following these improvement works water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network.

Uisce Éireann understands this type of work can be inconvenient and will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause.

National Leakage Reduction Programme

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme which will see €500 million invested in the period up to 2021 to reduce the level of leakage across the country by fixing and replacing ageing water mains. This will ensure a safe, reliable water supply which is vital for our health, our environment and our growing population and economy.
