Cookstown Sewer Network Upgrade
Uisce Éireann is commencing works to deliver an upgrade to the sewer network at Cookstown, Dublin.
Uisce Éireann is progressing works to deliver an upgrade to the Cookstown Sewer Network in Tallaght, Dublin. The works will consist installation of 650m of new gravity sewer on the Belgard and Airton Roads. This area is currently served by overloaded and outdated wastewater infrastructure and therefore a network upgrade is required.
This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network. GMC Utilities Group Ltd are delivering these works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

Will customers be affected by the works?
To safely and efficiently deliver these works, traffic management in the form of traffic marshals and temporary traffic lights will be in place.
We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient to commuters and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause.
Projects details:
This project includes: 430m of a new 300mm diameter gravity sewer on Belgard Road and approximately 230m of a new 600mm gravity sewer on Airton Road. The 300mm gravity sewer on Belgard Road will connect from an existing manhole at the Old Belgard Road junction and terminate at the junction of Belgard Road / Airton Road. The 600mm diameter gravity sewer on Airton Road shall continue from the proposed 300mm sewer at junction of Belgard Road / Airton Road and terminate 230m to the east.
Current programme of works:
- Works will commence in September 2025
- Uisce Éireann anticipates that these works will be completed by April 2026
