Pipelaying works on the section of Rock Road between the junction with the R172 and the junction with Sandy Lane are continuing under a road closure. In order to complete additional works associated with pipelaying activities, Louth County Council has granted an extension of the current road closure licence until Saturday 18th May. Local and emergency will continue to be maintained, with a diversion route for public traffic in place via the R172 Sea Road and Sandy Lane.  Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8AM to 6PM.

What works remain to be completed following the road closure?

Permanent reinstatement of the road surface will be carried out during the school summer holidays to minimise disruption. We will notify the community a minimum of two weeks in advance of reinstatement works commencing.
