Blackrock Water Network Upgrade
Uisce Éireannis upgrading the water network in Blackrock to support future growth and development in the area.
The works involve the installation of 2km of new water mains and is part of a project to improve the capacity of the existing water network and operational performance in the area.
The section of works is taking place along the R172 Sea Road and Rock Road.
This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing water network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network.
The works commenced in October 2023 are being carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by GMC Utilities Group, with expected completion in summer 2024.

- Providing a more resilient water supply - This project will improve the resilience of the water network, increasing connectivity to enable re-routing of water supply as required.
Works Update
Watermain installation and connection works have been completed.
Permanent reinstatement of the road surface at R172 Sea Road and Rock Road will commence on Monday 06 August.
Two works crews will operate simultaneously at R172 Sea Road and Rock Road. Traffic management measures are outlined in the table and works map below.
Standard working hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
