Ballydevitt to Eddrim Glebe Water Mains Replacement

Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Donegal County Council, has replaced ageing, problematic water mains prone to bursts from Ballydevitt to Ogherbeg, Donegal Town, Co. Donegal to provide a more secure and reliable water supply and reduce high levels of leakage.

The works involved the replacement of approximately 2,053m of aged problematic water mains with new modern pipes. The programme replaced the water mains from Ballydeviit to Ogherbeg, Donegal Town Co. Donegal which commenced in early July 2023. These works were being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme.

The section of works took place along the L6445 Ballydevitt to Ogherbeg Road.

The works also involved laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers' water supply. Where the existing service connections on the public side are lead these were replaced as part of this improvement work.

The works were carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Farrans Construction and were completed by May 2025.
