Works underway to restore supply to customers in Tipperary

Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in Coalbrook following an electrical issue which resulted in an interruption to supply at the local Water Treatment Plant.

Customers in Coalbrook, Ballingarry and the surrounding areas may experience an interruption to supply as a result.

It is estimated that supply will be restored by 1pm tomorrow.

Alternative Water Supplies are in place at Earlshill and Kilbraugh, while further supplies will be made available at Oaklands Estate and Ballingarry  at 10am tomorrow morning.

Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Separately, Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply to customers in Rearcross following an unplanned outage. It is expected that normal water supply will be restored to all affected customers by 10am on Wednesday morning.

Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said: “We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can have. Our crews are working to restore normal water supply as quickly and safely as possible. We thank customers for their patience and understanding while these works are completed and will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.”

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
