Update (18:00, 10 November, 2018) Irish Water, working in partnership with Limerick City and County Council are working to restore the water supply in Limerick City and surrounding areas following a major pipe burst. The burst occurred on the Dublin road adjacent to the railway bridge. Some areas of the city centre are affected by low pressure and loss of supply. The areas impacted include; Saint Patricks Hill, Dublin Road, Rhebouge Road and surrounding areas in the City.

Crews are on site and are working to repair the burst as quickly as possible, however the repair is proving complex due to difficult ground conditions from the recent heavy rainfall. The repair is expected to be completed at approximately 9pm tonight. Once the repair is complete water supply will begin to be restored. Full water service may take some time to return as water refills the network.

A traffic management system will be in place for the duration of the works. The Dublin Road has been closed and diversion routes are in place.

Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore supply to impacted customers. Irish Water and Limerick City and County Council regrets any inconvenience caused. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
