Water supply restored to Ballina customers after overnight repairs

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Water supply has returned to normal levels in Ballina this morning after the successful overnight repair of a burst main.

The burst, which occurred on Teeling Street on Wednesday afternoon, caused supply disruptions to some Uisce Éireann customers in the North Mayo town on Wednesday evening.

In order to minimise disruption to traffic in the town, crews delayed mobilising to site until 9pm. The repair works were less complex than initially anticipated and the repair was complete and normal water supply restored by approximately 11pm.

Contractors working on behalf of Uisce Éireann were on site at 7am this morning to complete reinstatement of the road surface.

Colette Scahill, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager, thanked impacted residents and businesses for their understanding while repairs were underway.

“We understand the inconvenience and frustration that can be caused by unplanned outages, and we wish to thank affected customers for their patience while our crews worked to resolve the issue and restore normal supply,” said Colette.
