Upgrade works due to take place at Carnaross Water Treatment Plant

20 October 2021

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Meath County Council to carry out essential upgrade works at Carnaross Water Treatment Plant to improve operational performance. While works are ongoing customers in Carnaross may experience temporary disruption to their supply such as low water pressure and/or water outages for short periods tomorrow, Thursday 21 October, between 10:00am and 4:00pm.

When works are completed it may take 2-3 hours for normal water supply to return to all customers but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.

Speaking about the works, Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann said, “Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience caused when works occur and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential upgrade works to secure the water supply for customers.

Uisce Éireann is responsible for the delivery of all public water and wastewater services in Ireland. We are committed to continuously upgrading and developing critical infrastructure to support the growth needed in housing and across our economy, while protecting the environment and safeguarding water supplies.

The latest updates on these works will be available on the Supply and Service Updates section of our website. The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 and customers can call us on 1800 278 278. Customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
