Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann has delivered the first phase of works in Two Mile House, where 4.2km of new water main has been installed to increase the supply capacity of the water network in the area.
The next phase of work is due to commence in the coming weeks, where approximately 10.8 kilometres of water main will be upgraded between Two Mile House and Newbridge to cater for the future growth and development of the Newbridge area.
These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s Growth and Development Programme and are expected to commence in early April.
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, TD, welcomed the project: “This is positive news for the community of Newbridge and Two Mile House. Upgrading the water infrastructure in the area will ensure the infrastructure needed to support the area’s development.
“Public water and wastewater services is essential to facilitating housing delivery as reflected in our new Housing Action Plan, Delivering Homes, Building Communities. Continued investment is also essential to sustain and improve existing water infrastructure in local communities. This project will provide critical capacity to enable new homes and serve the needs of the community.”
Derek Deignan, Programme Manager, Uisce Éireann, welcomed the progression of the works in Two Mile House: “This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the supply capacity of the existing water network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network,” he said.
“We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and work crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works may cause,” Derek added.
The upcoming works between Two Mile House and Newbridge will be carried out in stages to minimise disruption to local residents.
The first section of works will commence outside Two Mile House on the Corbally Road (L2032) working towards Harbour Road from 7 April to the end of May. A Stop/Go traffic management system will be in operation during this phase of work.
The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Shareridge Ltd., with the overall project expected to be completed by late 2027.
The works may involve some short-term water interruptions, and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to any planned water interruptions.
