Uisce Éireann Achieves Transformational Level Recognition as Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer

Uisce Éireann has achieved Transformational level recognition under the Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer Standard, the highest level of accreditation available. This recognition reflects the organisation’s ambition to deliver transformative water services by embedding continuous professional development as a strategic enabler of performance, integration and long term delivery.

The Transformational level is awarded to organisations where CPD is fully integrated into leadership, organisational culture and business strategy. For Uisce Éireann, this accreditation recognises how professional learning underpins its ability to operate as a single, national utility and to build the capability required to deliver safe, secure and sustainable water and wastewater services that enable communities to thrive.

As Ireland’s publicly owned national water authority, Uisce Éireann plays a central role in supporting housing delivery, economic growth and environmental protection. Delivering on this opportunity requires a highly skilled, engaged and future focused engineering workforce, capable of planning, delivering and operating critical national infrastructure at scale.

Engineers Ireland recognised Uisce Éireann’s strong leadership commitment to professional development, the clear alignment between CPD activity and organisational priorities, and the integration of CPD into workforce planning, talent development and delivery outcomes. This approach supports the organisation’s broader transformation agenda and its ambition to work better together across disciplines, regions and functions.

Commenting on the achievement, Niall Gleeson, Chief Executive of Uisce Éireann, said: “Achieving Transformational level accreditation from Engineers Ireland is a significant milestone for Uisce Éireann. It reflects our determination to invest in our people, build professional capability and support the delivery of essential water services that communities and the economy rely on, now and into the future.”

The Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer Standard provides a structured framework to support engineering employers in raising professional competence and organisational capability through continuing professional development. Transformational level status recognises organisations where CPD is demonstrably supporting long term delivery, resilience and sustainable outcomes.

Uisce Éireann will continue to invest in its people and foster a culture of lifelong learning and professional excellence, ensuring it has the skills, leadership and capability required to deliver vital water infrastructure, protect the environment and support sustainable growth across Ireland.
