Supply returning to Ferrybank customers after successful repairs

26 May 2026

Supply is now returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Ferrybank after the successful repair of a water main which burst earlier today.
Customers in parts of Ferrybank, Abbeylands, Ballinvoher and surrounding areas of Co Kilkenny were impacted by disruptions to their supply this evening as a result of this burst.

Uisce Éireann crews completed repairs to the main at approximately 7.30pm and water supply is now returning to impacted customers.

Uisce Éireann’s Shane Aylward thanked impacted customers for their understanding while repairs were underway.

We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages, and we wish to thank impacted residents and businesses owners for their patience while our crews worked to resolve the issue and restore supply,” said Shane.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
