Overnight restrictions necessary for Gort an Choirce and An Fál Carrach areas

Overnight water restrictions will be in place for Uisce Éireann customers in Gort an Choirce, An Fál Carrach, Machaire Uí Rabhartaigh, Doire Chonaire, and surrounding areas from 10pm tonight until 7am tomorrow morning. 

These restrictions are necessary due to a burst in the area which has resulted in extremely low reservoir levels locally. The burst water main is now repaired, but the supply interruption coupled with high demand on the network has left treated reservoir levels critically low.

Customers impacted by the restrictions should have supply levels restored from 7am tomorrow (Monday), although customers at elevated levels or at the end of the network may continue to experience low pressure or supply disruptions until lunchtime tomorrow.

The restrictions will help with the recovery of levels in An Caiseal Reservoir and to help maintain daytime supplies for local communities.

Uisce Éireann’s Adrian Gillespie assured customers that all efforts are being made to restore supply to normal levels.
“We understand the impact of overnight restrictions, but these measures are necessary to ensure continuous daytime supply for homes and businesses while we allow the treated reservoir levels time to recover,” said Adrian.
