Essential works to safeguard the water supply to homes and businesses in Stamullen

01 April 2022

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Meath County Council to carry out essential works to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Stamullen, Co Meath.

To facilitate the safe delivery of these works, a temporary loss of water supply to homes and businesses in Stamullen and surrounding areas is required on Monday 4 April and on Wednesday 6 April from 9am until 5pm.

The areas impacted include: Silverstream Avenue, Silverstream Court, Will Park, Mill Way, Mill Close, Village Park, Village Green, Village Drive, Elvana and Mountain View. Supply will be maintained along Main Street Stamullen.

Crews will make every effort to minimise the disruption to impacted customers and will work to complete these works as quickly and as safely as possible. It typically takes two to three hours following restoration time for the network to refill and normal water supply to fully return.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Speaking about the works, Matt Thomson, Regional Lead, National Leakage Reduction Programme, Uisce Éireann said, “Uisce Éireann understands that essential maintenance works can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with our colleagues in Meath County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.”

Matt added: “Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise. For advice on clearing discoloration and airlocks, visit the Issues during or after an outage section of our website.

Uisce Éireann and Meath County Council regret any inconvenience caused. The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates, please visit the Supply and Service Updates section of our website.
