Essential repair works to safeguard supply to homes and businesses in Maynooth

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Kildare County Council to carry out essential repair works to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Maynooth Co Kildare. 

To facilitate the safe delivery of these works, a temporary loss of water supply to homes and businesses on the Straffan Road in Maynooth and surrounding areas is required on Wednesday 27 April from 11am until 5pm.

The areas impacted include: Kingsbury, Highfield, Straffan Wood, Maynooth Park, Greenfield Drive, Laurence Avenue, Carton Court, Mullen Park, Straffan Road, Barberstown, Smithstow, Taghadoe, Corbally Stud, Killeenlea, Maynooth and surrounding areas in Co. Kildare.

Crews will make every effort to minimise the disruption to impacted customers and will work to complete these works as quickly and as safely as possible. It typically takes two to three hours following restoration time for the network to refill and normal water supply to fully return.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Speaking about the works, Peter Thornton, Uisce Éireann said, “Uisce Éireann understands that essential repair works can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with our colleagues in Kildare County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.”
