Uisce Éireann crews are working to return water supply to customers in Sligo town following a burst to a water main.

The burst is impacting supply to some homes and businesses in Riverside, Doorly Park, Cleveragh and surrounding areas of Sligo town this afternoon.

Kevin Love of Uisce Éireann said work is ongoing to resolve the issue and restore normal supply with repairs expected to be complete by 5pm this evening. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our repair works continue.”

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, customers in higher elevation areas may continue to experience loss of supply or low water pressure until reservoirs fully recharge later this evening, as full reservoir levels are required to restore pressure to elevated sites.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channels @IWCare and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
