Alternative water supply in place for outage in Ballyclough

Uisce Éireann is advising customers in the Ballyclough area of Cork of a water outage which is impacting on their supply.

Uisce Éireann customers in Rathnee, Steeple Hill, Curraghalehane, Cois Cuain Estate, Mountnorth, Ballyclough, Scarteen, Firville, Annabella Park, Killagrohan, Mallow and surrounding areas in Co Cork may be experiencing disruption to their supply.

Crews were onsite yesterday and this morning and completed a number of repairs, however the main has burst again today. Due to challenging conditions, repairs are expected to be completed by 5pm tomorrow.  

An alternative water supply in the form of a tanker has been made available for impacted customers. This will be available at Ballyclough Primary School from 3pm today.
Customers are reminded to bring their own containers when drawing water from the tanker, and to boil the water before use as a precautionary measure.

Michael Bell of Uisce Éireann thanked impacted customers for their understanding while works to restore normal supply are ongoing.
“We acknowledge the impact of an unplanned outage and we wish to thank customers for their co-operation while repair works are in progress,” said Michael.

To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.
