Reporting to the Water Asset Planning Lead, the Regional Water Treatment Asset Planning Specialist will sit in the Asset Planning team which is primarily responsible for 0-5 year asset planning. The Asset Planning team plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of planning activities across the three asset functions. This includes the roll-out of asset standards and policies and the use of common tools and shared data across the three asset functions. The Regional Water Treatment Asset Planning Specialist will play a key role in this collaboration objective through leading and chairing the Regional Water Forum. The role will also support the development of asset standards and policies.
They will be responsible for 0-5 year asset planning within the specified region. This includes development of the 0-5 year capital investment plan, assessment and decision-making in relation to system capacity to support growth and significant new connection applications and assessment and decision-making in relation to capital maintenance investment in line with Irish Water asset standards and policies.
The Regional Water Treatment Asset Planning Specialist will also ensure that Irish Water's policy, strategy and objectives are met in relation to the provision of safe drinking water and security of supply, in particular supporting its processes for ‘Water Safety Plans’ in line with EPA criteria for application across water supply zones.
